Northern Sea Robin
Prionotus carolinus, commonly known as the Northern or Common Sea Robin or gurnard, is a species of sea robin found on the east coast of the United States. The northern sea robin can be identified by its spiny head, tapering body, blue eyes, and large, fanlike pectoral fins. Three lower rays of the northern sea robin's pectoral fins are feelers used to "walk" along the bottom, so as to stir up bottom sediments to find food.
